“If you would ask me why I chose midwifery as vocation, I simply have to say that it was a calling. I have always been intrigued by the different stages of life. That’s why I chose to professionally accompany others facing challenges at different times of their lives first as a nurse and then as a midwife. To see a woman / a couple through the duration of a pregnancy enables me to be a part of a wonderful process, where people evolve and become something more then just an individual. This process technically is always the same yet simultaneously unique and different. I have to get close to every woman I am working with in order to find out about her strengths. This enables me to encourage them to use their inner resources, so that they can confidentially face pregnancy and labour. As I have worked as a midwife in various countries it has been most interesting for me to experience that this process is succeeding everywhere, no matter what the culture or the language is. Birth simply has it’s place in nature and brings one close to the Creation. ”
